I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted. Time for an update!
The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind. Between Brad's insurance business really picking up and everything else that goes on here on an "average" day, Brad and I don't feel like we see each other a whole lot.....and yet we still live under the same roof!
Brad's days in LaGrange/Northeast Indiana have been getting longer as the business has been beckoning much more than we had anticipated for the first quarter of the year. After Christmas, we were both a little nervous as this is usually the slow time of year for most insurance agents, coupled with the fact that it was time for his salary to be cut (this is normal for his occupation) we didn't know what the year would bring and were trying to save money like a squirrel stocks nuts for the winter. Through all of this, I have once again seen how amazing God is and how he works and blesses us just when we're not sure what to do or think. It's like he has whispered to me, "Be still and know that I am God." I have been praying the "prayer of Jabez" for Brad for quite awhile now and God has answered it very clearly for us. He never ceases to amaze me! Even though I do miss him not being home until later in the evening, it excites me to see him so pumped up about his job. We are blessed to have to have him in a career that is needed by everyone and also to be so blessed to have such a great boss as Ron! Brad is happier at this job than he has been at any of the jobs he's taken since I've been with him and trust me....there's quite a few!!!!! I always had the faith that he would find his niche, it just took some time! Brad, I am so proud of you and the supporter of this family that you have become. Every time you've left one job to take another, it's been to better yourself for our family! I love you with all my heart!
The kids and I are keeping busy too. With what, you might ask??? Well, Carson will have his own update following this posting but Gabby is still loving preschool and is talking more and more about kindergarten in the fall. I sit in disbelief all the time that I will have a kindergartner in the fall but it's going to happen! The school she will attend is under construction and due to be finished by the time school starts. We have told her the name of the school is Eel River and that her mascot will be a river otter which she just thinks is great. Soccer will come to an end next Saturday. Brad and I have enjoyed watching her each week as she's has greatly sharpened her skills since the first day. Gabby has liked playing soccer but is also expressing interest in returning to ballet so I am in the process of trying to figure all of that out!
MOPS seems to be going well, considering we've only had 1 meeting since Christmas!!! With all of the awful weather we've been having, school has either been delayed or cancelled on the days of our meetings therefore, cancelling us out. It is my hope and prayer that the worst is behind us so we can finish the year on a strong note!
My cleaning business is going great! I still enjoy it and it has been a great outlet for me. It's also been good for Brad and the kids as this is his time to have some one on one with them and I feel it has strengthened their relationship with him so much!
Last week we were all sick! That was just great! Carson started with a cold which then got to Gabby in the form of a fever and congestion that lasted about 4 days and then Carson ended up with a double ear infection. Brad and I managed to only get a milder version of the congestion crap but nonetheless, we all felt cruddy for a few days and it's hard to be sick when you have kids to take care of! Thankfully, we are all doing better this week and hope to be done with illness for a long time!
I think that pretty much catches you up! Thanks for reading!
